This past weekend we drove to Butte, Montana for our nephew's baby blessing. Baby Nathan was born to Joseph's oldest sister Jessica and her husband Arlis about a month ago. He's the first grandbaby in Joseph's family, so he's kind of a big deal.
Saturday night we played Scattegories and made the famous Withers family 7 layer cookies. There was a dinner at the church that night that we also went to. I've visited several other Mormon wards in my lifetime, but I've NEVER felt so at home or welcome than when we went to their ward party. We showed up after all the tables had been taken and people had started eating. Within 30 seconds, five men from the priesthood stopped eating their dinner and got tables and chairs for all of us. Immediately after, the ladies from the Relief Society were there with a tablecloth and glasses of water for all of us. It's so nice to know anywhere you go you have "family" in the church.
Sunday morning was the baby blessing. It was such a special time to have ALL of the 13 Withers family members together before Rachel leaves for Chile on her mission. Her and James will overlap on their missions, so this may not happen again for a while!
Arils, Jessica, baby Nathan, Rachel, Rebekah, Ashley, me, Joseph, James, Adeline, Dad, Mom, Wade(one day he'll smile for a picture!)
Rachel leaves for her mission to Chile in less than two weeks. Next time she sees baby Nathan, he'll be walking!
And I couldn't leave this out...Joseph and I found this in a little souvenir shop in Butte.
