49 Days of Summer - Day 24-Day 30 THE HONEYMOON!

We finally got to take our honeymoon this week and LOVED it! We stayed at Joseph's uncle's lakeside cabin in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho about 45 minutes from Spokane, WA. Most of the drive was through "big sky" Montana.   Every morning we woke up with a beautiful view of the lake and humming birds feeding on the front porch.  

Saturday.  Drove 7 hours through Idaho, Montana, and then back through Idaho again!

Rest stop.  A parking lot with a really permanent port-a-potty in the middle of nowhere.

The nearest fast food restaurant for miles was the front seat of our car.

Sunday.  We went to church in Spokane in the chapel near the temple.  Everyone was so nice and welcoming!

Monday.  Today we checked #37 off my bucket list and rented jet skis.  We had them on the lake for two hours and both of us decided we wouldn't mind owning some one day!

The cabin we stayed at was the brown and green one on the far left. It's located in one of the many inlets on the lake.  We were so proud we found it on our jet skis! 

We took the paddle boards around the dock for a little bit after our jet skiing trip.  It wasn't as thrilling, but still fun!

That night we took a walk on the world's longest floating dock.  The walk could have possibly been around some of the world's largest boats too!

Tuesday.  We rode the famous Route of the Hiawatha.  It was the perfect bike trail...we drove to the top of the mountain where the trail began, then cruised down for 15 miles stopping to take pictures over the huge trestles, and under the many abandoned rail road tunnels.  Then there was a bus service that took us back to the the beginning where we rode our bikes under the first long tunnel straight to our cars.  We could have ridden the 15 miles back up the mountain, but opted out so we could drive back to the cabin and go out for dinner instead!

The first tunnel we went through was almost two miles long and was a little wet and muddy with an average year round temperature of 45 degrees.  

Joseph took me to eat at the Dockside right on the lake.  The food was delicious.

Wednesday.  We worked on our tan and took the canoe out for a ride today. 

 I think this was the time when Joseph paddled and I cheered him on from the front.

Thursday.  We went into town today and found a souvenir shop with Christmas ornaments to add to our collection of ornaments from places we've been together.  Our first was Washington D.C.  Tonight we also got to go out on Michael and Lisa's boat and SKI!  

Joseph and I decided that we also wouldn't mind having a boat someday either. 

Friday. This is what we had to say goodbye to.  We had a GREAT week and want to go back again with our kids someday!
